Choice Lunch

+++++++
Oak PTA Volunteers manage our Lunch Service Program. Choice Lunch is our lunch vendor.
Choice Lunch offers wholesome, healthy, locally grown, compostable lunches that taste delicious. Students choose a hot or cold entrée along with sides and drinks to complete their lunch. Vegetarian, gluten-free and other sensitivities are catered for; larger portions are available for older kids. To learn more about Choice Lunch, including pricing, check out the Choice Lunch website.

Lunch Service Schedule
Lunch is served Monday through Friday, but NOT on minimum days.

Food Allergies
Choice Lunch entrées are prepared in a peanut-free and tree nut-free facility. All lunch items, including snacks, are free of peanut and tree nut products as well.

In addition, you may enter your student's specific food allergies and sensitivities under your student's profile, and Choice Lunch will automatically display only items that are safe for your student.  Food options include gluten-free, dairy-free, vegetarian, and more.

Payment, Ordering and Cancellations
All ordering, payments, and cancellations are conducted directly with Choice Lunch through their website or app. Choice Lunch offers monthly subscription and pay-as-you-go options. Ordering and cancellation policies are spelled out at ChoiceLunch.

Emergency Lunches
Sometimes lunches are forgotten at home or parents forget to place an order with Choice Lunch. All Oak students are able to receive an Emergency Lunch. Emergency lunches are provided at PTA expense and will include gluten-free cereal, milk or water, and a snack or fruit. There is no charge for emergency lunches. Students who are frequent users of Emergency Lunch will be contacted to ensure that families provide lunch on a regular basis.

Volunteers
Volunteers make Lunch Service happen! We are happy to welcome volunteers for as little as one shift per month. If you are interested, even if it’s only for a limited period, please contact the Lunch Service coordinator at oakschoollunchprogram@gmail.com. All lunch service volunteers will receive a credit for a free lunch for each day served.

All volunteers are required to be fully vaccinated and able to show proof of vaccination. Upon arriving for their shift, volunteers must check in with the office and complete the symptom tracker. Volunteers must wear masks while on campus.

National School Lunch Program

The Los Altos School District participates in a lunch program at all school sites which conforms to federal and state nutrition guidelines. All students may participate by purchasing a lunch.
If your child qualifies for free or reduced price meals under the National School Lunch Program guidelines, they will be provided with a lunch at school. If your family is eligible, you must complete and sign the application below, and return it to your school as soon as possible.
You must reapply each school year to continue in the National School Lunch Program.
